Storrington WEEE recycling event this month

Posted on 15 August 2013

On Saturday 24th August, the Horsham Mobile Recycling Service will be in Storrington!

Looking for an easy way to recycle your old, broken or unwanted electrical items in Storrington? Bring them along to the Library Car Park between 10am and 3pm on Saturday 24th August for recycling.

Mobile Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) events are continuing in the four parishes of Henfield, Pulborough, Steyning and Storrington on a rolling basis until the end of 2013. WEEE is everything that is powered by batteries or by plugging into the mains socket.

The scheme is being run by West Sussex County Council in partnership with Viridor and support from Horsham District Council in order to further encourage recycling of small WEEE items and to provide a more localised service in rural communities.

The WEEE service can accept large electrical appliances such as washing machines and cookers; fridge freezers; display equipment such as TVs, laptops and personal computers; fluorescent tubes; and small electrical appliances such as hairdryers and toasters.

For any items that can’t be accepted, the nearest Household Waste Recycling Sites are at Hopoast, Worthing Road, Horsham, RH13 0AR or at Brighton Road, Shoreham, BN43 6RJ.

Alternatively you can contact Horsham District Council, which offers a chargeable bulky household collection service. For more details visit or telephone 01403 733144.
