Household Waste Recycling Site UPDATE

Posted on 1 April 2019

Spring has officially sprung, which means that as of today (Monday 1 April) our Household Waste Recycling Sites (HWRSs) revert to summer opening hours.

The majority of sites will open at 9am, with the exception of Bognor, Crawley and Littlehampton which will all open at 8.30am on weekdays.

Worthing, Westhampnett, Burgess Hill and Crawley will be open seven days a week and all sites will stay open until 6pm.

You can also check out opening times and days of your nearest site on the West Sussex recycles website.

Please note, you can’t take a trailer to Bognor or Littlehampton and if you drive a commercial-type vehicle for private use (non-business) please remember that you need to have a permit to dispose of your household waste at all of our HWRSs.

The free permit applies to anyone who uses a van, pickup or single axle trailer and is available to West Sussex residents only.

Alongside the permit, please remember to take along photo identification, like a Driving License, to confirm that you are a West Sussex resident.

You can find out more information about the permit scheme, including the online application form on the West Sussex County Council website.
