Christmas cardboard conundrum

Posted on 2 November 2018

Christmas is just around the corner and if you're organised, you'll already be shopping online and getting your Christmas gifts ordered.

Although buying online can avoid being stuck in Christmas queues, the downside is that your parcel usually arrives encased in cardboard.

The good thing about cardboard is that it can be recycled in your recycling bin at home and if you fold it flat and tear it into smaller pieces (ideally the size of a cereal box), you’ll be able to fit more in. Please don’t leave them outside to get wet, as soggy cardboard can’t be mixed in with your dry recycling.

If you fold it flat and it’s still too big for your recycling bin, you can save it and take it down to your local Household Waste Recycling Site when you visit next.
