Freeze with Ease

As part of our ‘Fight Against Food Waste’ campaign this month we’re focusing on how to ‘Freeze with Ease’.

Freezing food that is reaching the end of its ‘shelf life’ is a great alternative to just throwing it away and if the freezer is set to below -18 degrees Celsius you have the perfect environment to freeze lots of produce, including meat, vegetables, milk and fruit.

To make sure you get the best out of your freezer, you can do a number of things, including:

  • Making sure food is cooled before freezing to avoid increasing the temperature of the freezer and causing other foods to defrost.
  • Freezing food in manageable portions so that this can be used according to need and not wasted.
