‘Blooming marvellous’ flower installation created by Glebe Primary School

Posted on 16 August 2018

Students and teachers from Glebe Primary School have highlighted the plight of plastics in our ocean by creating a flower sculpture made entirely from plastic bottles which is now on display at the Materials Recycling Facility in Ford.

Working alongside Jo Norman, Education and Communication Officer at Viridor, the inspiration for the sculpture came from sea anemones and how they looked similar to flowers.

Jo and teachers from the school helped the children turn over 200 plastic bottles collected from home into flowers for the sculpture.

If you think your child’s school would be interested in working with Jo on similar projects, please contact Jo on 01903 712620 or email fordeducation@viridor.co.uk for more details.
