Viridor Education Team attended the Suffolk County Show.

Posted on 5 July 2017

Viridor worked in partnership with Suffolk County Council promoting all areas of Waste and Recycling at the Suffolk Show on 31st May and 1st June 2017.

It was a great turn out form all involved and we were able to deliver the recycle message to the wider public.

Many people learnt new information and had fun engaging in the treasure hunt around the different displays empowering them with knowledge.

Lots of positive feedback form many visitors, while children enjoyed playing a recycle fishing game and making recycled jellyfish and sharks from plastic bottles and bags

 Over the two days:

615 people took part in the Rubbish Treasure Hunt (bike competition)

99 people signed up for waste e-updates

400 glass bags were given out (plus approx. 100 tea towels)

200+ LFHW bag clips and can lids given out

400 Suffolk Recycling flags coloured in

300 plastic bottle jellyfish made

300 people had a go on the EfW rowing machine

Master Composters recorded speaking to 600 people

“Viridor engaged with over 1000 people and many more visited the tent. The jellyfish were very popular making around 300 of them – A bloom is a collective noun for jellyfish!”
