New green competition turns waste into art

A new art competition has just launched for all West Sussex schools to take part in. The competition aims to teach children that there is ‘no such thing as rubbish’

The competition has been organised by Sussex Green Living, in partnership with Horsham Festival and West Sussex County Council Waste Prevention Team, is open to all nurseries, schools and young person’s uniformed organisations throughout West Sussex.

There are four age categories: under 5s, 5-7 years, 8-11 years and 11-14 years.  Each winning group will receive a talk or assembly from Nicola Peel, a multi-award winning environmentalist and solutionologist. Followed by a Green Art Workshop delivered by Carrie Cort, voluntary Waste Prevention Advisor Chris Porter and other creative helpers.

Deadline for entry is June 30th, 4pm, and judging will take place as part of Horsham Festival in Horsham Park on Sunday 9th July 2017.
