No black bag trial - Worthing Household Waste Recycling Site

Posted on 4 April 2016

Viridor in partnership with West Sussex County Council carried out a waste composition analysis in 2015; the result highlighted approximately 7,000 tonnes of the materials contained in black bags delivered to the Household Waste Recycling Sites (HWRS) could be recycled or recovered.

In partnership, a 4 week trial, with a review option after 2 weeks will be conducted at Worthing Household Waste Recycling Site (HWRS) from April 4th 2016.

The aim of the trial is to reduce our environmental impact, save landfill tax, raise awareness of recycling options available at site and help improve the county’s recycling rate by capturing those materials that could be recycled into something new instead of being thrown away.
