Resource model needs new boundaries, says Viridor

Posted on 2 February 2016

Viridor has declared that current resource management systems in England are ‘no longer fit for purpose’ and is calling for a ‘new and ambitious model’ that moves beyond traditional local authority areas.

And, as well as looking at boundaries in terms of operations in England, Viridor is also recommending a “shift in the country’s resources policy from one that encourages wastefulness to one based on preserving material, generating demand for high-quality recyclate to enable investment in ‘next generation’ recycling and recovery infrastructure”.
